Location: 1/2 mile south of Tahoe City. Price range: $400k’s – $2.5m. Lakefronts: $2m – $5.5m
Most of is call it Olympic but it’s technically Tahoe Sierra Estates and it’s one of my personal favorites. Boasting a large buoy field plus a laid back, gated homeowner beach and lakefront lawn, Olympic is only a mile from Tahoe City and is one of the sunniest neighborhoods on the West Shore. In fact, many think of it as being Tahoe City because of its location next to Tahoe Tavern. The biggest boon for Olympic is that the entire neighborhood is on the lakeside of the ‘highway’, West Lake Blvd. In other areas you pay a huge premium if you’re on the good side of the street but in Olympic you occasionally find entry-level pricing in the $400k’s. I sold a house here in a matter of days. Here every parcel is near the lake and there’s very little traffic which gives Olympic a nice feel even during the mayhem of midsummer.
