I moved here from New England in 1995. Tahoe is the perfect mix of everything for me and I am so happy to call it home. My wife, Shawna, and I have a 4-year old boy and a newborn baby girl. We live in Tahoe City and are active in the community at the Lake and in Truckee. One morning we were driving to Carnelian Bay for a sunrise breakfast and little Grant said to me, “Daddy, isn’t it gorgeous today?” Ahh, Tahoe….

A Fun Hobby…
I have been a freelance writer / photographer since my first year at the Lake. An injury had the house dog and me watching our roommates head out for a huge pow day at Squaw. I released my jealousy with pen and paper which resulted in a published article in the Tahoe World newspaper. That turned into a freelance career as a professional blog writer and photographer highlighted by a year of world travel. Recent blog clients include Squaw Valley Ski Corp, SKI Magazine, Granlibakken Resort and ESPN’s MountainZone.com. Print publications include POWDER Magazine, SKIING Magazine, Tahoe Quarterly, and Squaw Valley Times. I’ve written weekly newspaper columns for Sierra Sun and Tahoe WEEKLY. My focus is a journalistic approach with a finger on the pulse of Tahoe throughout the year – it’s a blast. For fun, I’ve framed in Big Al’s Squaw Blog which I wrote for Squaw Valley Ski Corp in 2009/10. I shot all the photos on this site and oftentimes give them to real estate clients as closing gifts.
