King’s Beach is the northernmost section of the California-side of Tahoe. It is in the midst of the greatest growth in North Lake. Placer County is investing $44m in capital improvements and the world is noticing. A private developer is putting in a 10-unit lakefront condominium.

Kings Beac has expansive natural sand beaches – at one point it had actual sand dunes from prevailing southerly winds (two still exist; ask Alex where). “KB” has some of the warmest swimming water in Tahoe and fantastic family-friendly public access areas with playgrounds, grassy areas, BBQ spots replete with horseshoes, volleyball, etc., lakefront parking and clean public restrooms. King’s Beach is the most socially diverse town in North Tahoe.

Lot sizes are generally in 50′ increments so you find some high density in many areas. For lakefront real estate, KB has a great street called Brockway Vista which is located far enough from N. Lake Blvd that noise is low. Lakefronts can start in the low $1m range on this street. Brockway Springs is a neighborhood that starts at the very far side of KB – find properties there under the “Old Brockway” page. This is fantastic lakefront enclave where buyers get much more house than they otherwise would for a true lakefront yet the amenities are great – lakefront pool, tennis, pier, mooring field and it’s all gated for privacy.
