Genuine. Strategic. Trusted.

Alex has mastery of the most important aspects of the Tahoe real estate business. His mindset, attention to clients’ interests and his connections within the real estate community are extremely valuable. He is known for solid negotiations and extremely creative, high-quality marketing. Emphasis is on a healthy client ratio which keeps the quality of work performed and buyer/seller satisfaction at the highest possible level. This isn’t a volume warehouse for real estate but rather a customized, involved and active real estate practice. Success comes from blending his strong work ethic with classic (aka “old school”) techniques and industry-leading technologies.

Specific Real Estate Specialties and experience include Lakefront Homes, Lakeview Homes, Superior HOA Neighborhoods, Primary Homes, 1031 Exchanges, Condominiums, Probate Sales, and of course Alex also works with Short Sales, REO/Foreclosures which are becoming increasingly rare. Extensive contacts for all aspects of buying, selling, owning, developing and maintaining Tahoe property. Solid working relationships with inspectors, lenders, appraisers, land-use planners, escrow officers and contractors.

Quick Background

Alex moved here from New England in 1995. He found Tahoe to have the perfect mix of everything and he is so happy to call it home. His in-depth knowledge of the entire North and West Shores plus Alpine and Squaw is a unique benefit for clients who need help combining Lifestyle and House. He works with Chase International, the regional leader in luxury real estate with over $1.5 billion in annual sales and over $2.5B in 2020.

He and his wife have three young kids. They live in Tahoe Vista and are active in the community at the Lake and in Truckee. One morning they were driving to Carnelian Bay for a sunrise breakfast and three-year-old Grant said to Alex, “Daddy, isn’t it gorgeous today?” Ahh, Tahoe….

A Fun Hobby…

Alex has been a freelance writer / photographer since his first year at the Lake – first it was to pay the bills, now it’s just for fun and he publishes solely on his real estate media outlets. Back in ’95 an injury had him and the house dog watching the roommates head out for a huge pow day at Squaw. He released his jealousy with pen and paper which resulted in a published article in the Tahoe World newspaper. That turned into a freelance career as a professional blog writer and photographer highlighted by a year of world travel. Blog clients included Squaw Valley Ski Corp, SKI Magazine, Granlibakken Resort and ESPN’s MountainZone.com. Print publications included POWDER Magazine, SKIING Magazine, Tahoe Quarterly, and Squaw Valley Times. He’s written weekly newspaper columns for Sierra Sun and the Tahoe WEEKLY. His focus was a journalistic approach with a finger on the pulse of Tahoe throughout the year – it was a blast. For fun, we’ve framed in Big Al’s Squaw Blog which he wrote for Squaw Valley Ski Corp in 2009/10. He shot almost all the photos on TheBigBlueLake.com and upon request gives them to real estate clients as closing gifts.
