These are some of the great things going on in Tahoe. Some are causes and some are just plain fun. Feel free to be an armchair warrior or actually get out there and help revive a hiking trail or clean up a stream. Some organizations have fantastic incentives for their volunteers. For example, the Sierra Club gives hut helpers first choice of reservations for their incredibly popular Sierra Crest Huts. My family’s top local charities are the Boys and Girls Club, Sierra Community House, Sierra Avalanche Center, Sierra Watershed Education Partnership and TAMBA.
