Carnelian Bay

This is one of the great, tiny ‘towns’ in Tahoe – CB has its own zip code. This sunny area is considered the banana belt of Tahoe. It’s location and due south exposure mean less snow and it melts faster. CB is home the most active dog-friendly beach and one of the busiest marinas (former host to the Concours d’Elegance). Across the street is a popular restaurant called The Old Post Office which was the actual old post office for the area. Carnelian Bay includes lakefront and lakeview homes as well as condos and other tucked away neighborhoods in a relatively flat landscape with easy winter access. Its close proximity to the beach and Garwoods Restaurant makes it ideal for those who like the Old Tahoe feel and a good social scene.
