Dollar Point was a tract of land originally slated for an observatory because of its expansive views. Now it is one of the prime spots in all of Tahoe. The amenities, exposure, vacation rental potential and central location of Dollar Point make it a much sought-after neighborhood. Located off Hwy 28 between Tahoe City and Cedar Flat, this 500-home development is also close to the Nordic Center (walking distance across Hwy 28) with cross country/skate skiing in winter and then fantastic mountain biking in summer. The Nordic Center also offers excellent hiking with a reservoir from which ice was harvested for delivery into Nevada. A weather beaten old structure can still be found as a monument to days of old. Dollar Point has a great buoy program. Some call it Mini Incline Village because of the exposure and similar topography plus some of the homes are quite large. Alex recorded the MLS record high sale when he sold a property here for $8.2m.
