This is classic West Shore. Many people love this area because it is still proximate to Tahoe City (2 miles by car + pretty easy bike path) yet it has a totally different feel from the North Shore. When exploring Sunnyside Lake Tahoe Community information you will find that the neighborhood of Sunnyside has many of the West shore’s most elegant lakefront homes – you can see them best just south of Sunnyside Restaurant but there are some older ones tucked privately into the woods and shoreline to the north. There are two main subdivisions here – Tahoe Park and Pineland. Tahoe Park has an incredible, private multi-acre lakefront park for homeowners including 2 piers, buoy, bbq’s, grassy areas, basketball, volleyball, etc. Pineland has large lots and owners can access the public beach just north of Sunnyside Restaurant. The recreated Sunnyside Market has become one of the areas most appreciated organic and health food markets. A morning walk to Firesign Restaurant for breakfast is something you’ll rarely find yourself doing alone!
