Tahoma is south of Homewood and close to Sugar Pine Park. Off the water, Tahoma offers some of the most affordable living on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe. The tiny strip mall has a post office and restaurant – be sure to see the tiny locksmith shack across the street. The locally famous PDQ (“Pretty Darn Quick”) Market is housed in the neat red barn along the road – word to the wise, never park nose in; back in; you’ll thank Alex for the tip! The main subdivision here is called Tahoe Cedars but regulars call it The Avenues. They were dirt until the 1990’s and most of the roads point straight to Rubicon Peak which looks awesome down the tree-lined corridors. There are some absolutely amazing lakefront estate properties just south of the market and some other neat lakefront streets to the north.
