Just 2 miles south of Tahoe City you’ll see Talmont and Twin Peaks rising 1000 feet above the lake and offering spectacular views. They are located next to one of the most popular hiking and biking areas, Paige Meadows. In late spring/early summer, wildflowers abound and you can walk/bike on the little causeways among the temporary ponds. Access to Talmont is up a locally famous hill. Alpine Peaks is at the back of Ward Canyon + the backside of Alpine Meadows. Both neighborhoods receive more snow than other nearby areas making life here sometimes challenging. But these areas get a fair bit of southern and eastern sun exposure and people love the seclusion – especially in Alpine Peaks. Many miles of hiking and cross country trails surrounded these areas making them a great spot for adventurers – and dogs!
